The cultural association Youth Workshop was founded in 1999 by Francesco Paolo Molinelli thanks to the enthusiasm of a group of young people from Palermo who wanted to gather as many peers as possible in order to deal with cultural, social and political topics.
In a very short time and with a very small budget, the association managed to organize hundreds of cultural and arts events and exhibits showing that something meaningful can be done even with little money.
The association went through hard times from 1999 to 2001 since it had to fulfil many logistic and operative needs, such as having a head office on its own, a telephone line, a secretary's office, a web site, etc. So, thanks to the determination and will of the founding group the association finally got its shape and consolidated itself, thus gaining consensus and admiration. Consequently, the bond with foreign countries became stronger and the contacts increased. To date, the association numbers hundreds of enthusiasts and correspondents all over the world to promote both Italian and foreign art.
Nowadays, the Youth Workshop aims at supporting those artists who wish to step into the international circuit of exhibitions and twinnings.
Unfortunately, all along these years we have realised that the world of art is constantly undermined by hypocrisy. Therefore, our primary task is to fight all those meaningless pseudo-cultural references that often endanger the artists' activity, since, for us, quality is paramount.
We think that artists, according to their needs and skills, should be given an opportunity to promote themselves and spread their art everywhere. To promote an artist, it is essential to have strong co-workers in the fields of communication, logistics and art criticism: that is the reason why our Youth Workshop collaborates with professionals who are internationally well-known. Then, thanks to its experience, the Youth Workshop can also rely on public and private partners.
