Neo Adonis (Holland)

Neo Adonis is a "VIDEO ARTIST" of Leptomania Art Movement

In 1984 a group of artists and friends connected. They were dissatisfied with the present situation in the cultural circuit. They did not want to stand on the sidelines and organised in 1990 Leptomania Art Movement (L*A*M). An initiative of artists to promote their different ideas and interests and engage the general public. The artists want to combine their many expressions; The sum is more than the total of it's parts. Many small artists concoctions, curiosa, oddities and whatever forms of media communications are waiting to be exposed. That's what the L*A*M is for!

Leptomania
is only one of the initiatives of L*A*M. They also produce a periodic Videozine with a lot of variety. We think there is a public need for the leptotapes. Every leptotape is a videocollection of compact 'video-art' made by different people. Each tape will be minimal 60 minutes. These tapes will give a unique opportunity to present work that was not exibited before.

Non-Profit
L*A*M will produce and sell these tapes at cost-price. The bored television viewer gets a ready-made ZAP-alternative.

Three Leptotapes have been produced as of now, each one containing seventeen short video-productions. We collect material and sollicit animation, videoclips, mini-documentaries, found footage, short stories, videodrugs and experiments, fake commercials, computergraphics etc...

Each leptotape will be different in content and so will be the cover. Covers will be designed by several designers and cartoonists.

The L*A*M will hold video-presentations in video cafes and cultural centers throughout the country (the so-called third circuit). We will present the work at festivals, to reach a broader audience.

Live
The VJ's (Video Jockeys that generate and manipulate live images) are already ever-present at modern dance-events

The L*A*M is searching for up and coming talent. You too can participate in a future Leptotape. If you make video, animations, whatever, that are different from what the present media offers;
